Aboard an aircraft carrier, time bends under the weight of relentless operations. Day bleeds into night, and the ocean stretches infinitely in every direction. For those who serve here, the roar of jet engines and the crash of waves become the rhythm of existence.

The deck of the USS George Washington is a symphony of controlled chaos. In this photograph that I took last year, an F-35C Lightning II—a symbol of modern military might—sits parked against a sky heavy with clouds. The image captures a fleeting moment of anticipation, where human precision meets the raw power of aviation.

In the end, photographing chaos isn’t about controlling it—it’s about finding structure within it. The challenge is to see beyond the noise and movement, to anticipate the right moment before it happens. Because in environments like these, you don’t get a second chance to capture history.
